DR. MELISSA SENIOR

Hi there, I’m Melissa!

I’m a mom of two, a wife, a daughter, and a licensed psychologist. I love spending time with my family and friends. I’m a big Boston Bruins fan, love Taylor Swift, and am obsessed with Broadway musicals. I will never say no to a good cup of coffee. I absolutely love my job—and you’ll hear me say that often!

I’m so glad you’re here and I look forward to working with you!

What it’s like to work with me…

Working with me means receiving care that’s tailored to your unique needs and age, delivered in a down-to-earth and approachable way. I like to include humor in sessions when appropriate, making therapy feel comfortable and relatable. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, meaning we work together as a team and focus on your existing abilities and resources to help you grow and overcome challenges. I believe in building on what’s already working for you, while supporting you in areas where you need extra help. My style is influenced by CBT, DBT, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, positive parenting, and play-based techniques. This means I use a variety of proven approaches to support your goals, always tailoring strategies to what works best for you. I am neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and gender-affirming, which means I provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where all identities and experiences are respected and valued.

Where did the name “Resilient Minds” come from?

Throughout my career—both in the school system and in private practice—I have had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life. Time and again, I’ve witnessed people face adversity with remarkable courage, adapting their thoughts, behaviors, and actions to overcome life’s challenges. It takes tremendous strength to reach out for help and even greater determination to put that support into practice.

I am continually inspired by those around me who, despite obstacles, find ways to grow and become more empowered versions of themselves. These experiences have shaped my belief in the power of resilience—the ability to not just withstand hardship, but to emerge from it stronger and wiser.

When it came time to name my practice, “Resilient Minds” felt like the perfect reflection of the journeys I’ve been honored to witness. It stands for the hope, strength, and transformation that I believe is possible for everyone.
